Robert Jennings is the Gregg T. and Judith A. Summerville Professor of Finance in the Kelley School of Business. Previously, he was the Jack R. Wentworth Professor of Business and the School of Business Alumni Association Faculty Fellow. He received his B.S.B.A. degree from the University of Tulsa in 1973 and his M.B.A. degree from the same institution in 1974. From 1974 through 1977 Professor Jennings worked in the Operations Research Division of Conoco. He received his Ph.D. in Business with a major in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.
Professor Jennings joined the business school faculty with the beginning of the Fall semester 1980. With the exception of a brief visiting stint with the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago, he has been in Bloomington since. His current research interest is the structure of the markets for equity securities in the United States. His primary interests include the design of these markets and various public policy issues about their regulation.
Professor Jennings' research has been published in many of the leading finance and accounting journals. He is the past Vice President, Program of the Financial Management Association. Currently, he serves as Associate Editor for Journal of Financial Markets and the Journal of Financial Research.
