Bala G. Arshanapalli
Gallagher-Mills Chair of Business and Economics - 2001
Bala Arshanapalli received his B.A. from Kakatiya University, India, his M.A. in Economics from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and his Ph.D. in finance from Northern Illinois University. He joined Indiana University Northwest (IUN) in 1991 and became Gallagher-Mills Chair of Business and Economics in 2001.
His current research interest is in international and institutional investments, including empirical methods in financial time series modeling. Arshanapalli's research has been published in many of the leading finance Journals. He is recognized as an outstanding teacher at both the University of Bridgeport and IUN.
Arshanapalli served on the editorial board of European Financial Management and the International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management. He has consulted and taught executive development classes for nationally recognized companies, such as Sears, Roebuck and Company, Ibbotson and Associates, U.S. Steel, Unext.com, and Ni Source.
In 2020, Arshanapalli was presented with a Bicentennial Medal for his distinguished contributions to Indiana University.
