Joseph A. DiMicco

Chancellor's Professor of Pharmacology - 2006

Joseph A. DiMicco

Dr. DiMicco graduated from Tufts University with a B.S. in Biology in 1969 and with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Georgetown University in 1978. Dr. DiMicco’s main focus is in the neurobiology of emotional stress and the hypothalamus.

His honors include: Carrie E. Wolff Award from the American Heart Association in 1982; Otis R. Bowen Award from the IU School of Medicine in 1996; IUPUI Teaching Excellence Recognition Award in 1998; IU Trustees Teaching Award in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2006; and Best Professor for the spring semester of 2008 by the IUSM Class of 2010.

From 2004-2007, he was a member of Chemical Weapons Team; Scientific and Technical Advisory Response Teams (START); National Center for Emergency Preparedness (NCEP) and Department of Homeland Security.
