John T. Lind, MD, MS is Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology. He was born in Winchester, IN and attended Bloomington High School South. He graduated from IU Bloomington and the IU School of Medicine. His residency was completed at Saint Louis University and his glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. He served on faculty at Saint Louis University (2011 Ophthalmology Teacher of the Year) from 2009-2012 and Washington University Saint Louis (2019 Clinical Faculty of the Year) from 2012-2019.
Dr. Lind has trained and mentored hundreds of fellows, residents and medical students. He has served as Director of Medical Student Education at Saint Louis University and Washington University. He served as Associate Residency Program Director and Associate Director of Medical Student Education at Indiana University. He currently serves as the Indiana University Glaucoma Fellowship Director.
Dr. Lind is an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and a member of the American Glaucoma Society (AGS). He was honored with by the AAO with an Achievement Award and Special Recognition Award. He has served on the Annual Meeting Program Committee of the AGS after serving on the Bylaws and Strategic Planning, Advocacy and Government Relations, Fellowship Certification, Audit Committee, the AGS Foundation Task force Committees and the 2017 Co- Chair for Surgery Day. He serves on the AAO Preferred Practice Patterns Committee, Annual Program Subcommittee, and has served on the Annual Meeting Glaucoma Subspecialty Day Program Committee. He is the Founder and Co-Course Director of the Innovations in Glaucoma Surgery Course and the Saint Louis Glaucoma Fellows Course.
