Douglas P. Landsittel
James A. Caplin Chair in Evidence-Based Public Health - 2021 - 2023
Douglas O. Landsittel earned his B.S. and Ph.D. in biostatistics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992 and 1997, respectively. He joined the Indiana University (IU) faculty in 2021 as the chairperson and professor of epidemiology and biostatistics in the School of Public Health. In November 2021, he earned the additional, honorary title of James A. Caplin, Chair in Evidence-Based Public Health.
Prior to his IU career, Landsittel held numerous appointments and titles at the University of Pittsburgh. Most recently, he served as a professor of biomedical informatics, biostatistics, medicine, and clinical and translational Science in the School of Medicine, where he was Director of the Biomedical Statistics & Data Science Lab, Director of Biostatistics (for Research), Starzl Transplant Institute, and Director of the Expanding National Capacity in PCOR through Training & Collaboration (ENACT) Network.
Throughout his robust research and teaching career, Landsittel has authored several articles related to epidemiology and biostatistics that have appeared in numerous, prestigious publications, including the Journal of Modern and Applied Statistical Methods and the Journal of Simulation and Statistical Computation.
