Ash Soni received his B.S. from Manchester University in 1971, and a M.S. from Strathclyde University in 1973. He then earned his M.B.A. in 1979, and his D.B.A. in 1981 from Indiana University.
Soni is the Associate Dean of Information Technology, a Professor of Operations & Decision Technologies, and the ArcelorMittal Faculty Fellow in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has been part of the IU faculty since 1981. Previously, he served at University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and was an Operations Research Executive at NCB in London.
Soni's research interests focus in areas of enterprise systems & applications, emerging technologies, operations research & business analytics, supply chain management, and computer simulation.
Soni has been the recipient of the Kelley Direct Program Teaching Excellence Award in 2004, 2005, 2009, and 2011, the Arcelor Mittal Faculty Fellowship since 2008, the SAP Faculty Fellowship since 2002, the Victor Cabot Faculty Fellowship Award in 2000, the TERA Award in 2000, the Innovative Teaching Award in 1998 & 1999, a Distinguished Service Award from the IU School of Business in 1997, the Lilly Alumni Teaching Excellence Award in 1992, the MBA Teaching Excellence Award in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1995, and, lastly, the Lieber Associate Teaching Excellence Award from Indiana University in 1978.
